UK – Since production of the TX4 restarted in September 2013, more than 1,000 vehicles have been made at Coventry-based The London Taxi Company (LTC). The manufacturer of the British capital's famous cabs was rescued from collapse last year by Chinese OEM Geely.
Rob Laidler, director of retail at LTC, said: “Given the challenges of restarting production, as well as the implementation of new quality monitoring and management processes, we are all extremely proud of the hard work and determination demonstrated by our colleagues working in Production.”
He added: “This is an exciting period of development and progress for the entire company; we still have much that we want to achieve and implement. However, this milestone should quite rightly be a moment for the team to pause and reflect on positively.”
