US – As president and CEO of Bentley Motors Inc, Michael Winkler will report directly to Kevin Rose, member of the board for Sales, Marketing and Aftersales. Taking up his new role on April 1, Winkler will succeed Christophe Georges, who was recently appointed director of Product and Marketing for the carmaker’s global organisation.
Winkler has over 30 years of experience in the automotive industry and has held international posts, including working for Porsche in Germany, North America and Australia. He joins Bentley from Jaguar Land Rover, where he was managing director of the Australian division.
The Americas region is the biggest market for Bentley worldwide, with last year’s 3,186 deliveries representing a 29% global share. The figure was also an increase on the 3,140 deliveries completed in 2013. Bentley’s Americas headquarters are in Herndon, Virginia.
Meanwhile, Christophe Georges will take up his new role at the headquarters in Crewe. He will be responsible for marketing, product and motorsport activities, including brand strategy and development, digital marketing, CRM, the Bentley Collection, motorshows and live events.
