UK – The city of Sunderland has achieved record-breaking automotive manufacturing success and major international investment in the last 18 months, the city authorities say. Over 2,000 automotive-related job opportunities have been announced and international companies to have opened plants in the city include US-based Lear Corporation and SNOP UK.
Vantec has invested £22m ($34m, the largest outlay on a project made by the company outside of Japan) on Vantec Europe’s 39,000-square-metre warehouse at Sunderland earlier this year.
