Skoda shuffles production to add Octavia to Kvasiny and free up capacity at Mlada Bolslav for Enyaq and Elroq models.

Skoda Kvasiny

Skoda is increasing production of the latest variant of its best-selling Octavia by utilising available capacity at its Kvasiny plant, which also produces the Karoq and Kodiaq models. The company says this is made possible by moving production of Superb model to VW’s Bratislava plant.

In preparation for start of production for the Octavia Skoda says it established a training centre featuring three robotic workstations for practical training and two classrooms for theoretical training.

Andreas Dick, Skoda Auto Board Member for Production and Logistics, says:“By producing additional units of the Skoda Octavia at our Kvasiny plant we are making

efficient use of our flexible production network and fully utilising the capacities of our plants.”

The Octavia will share the same production line with the Karoq model.

The plant has already seen some upgrades with Skoda investing €49m in Kvasiny to produce the second generation Kodiaq, which will offer a plug-in hybrid powertrain option. Improvements to the production operations included updates to manipulators, chassis assembly, conveyor technologies, and refined robot functions for applying window adhesives.
