Germany – The plastics specialist has transferred its operations from a BMW-owned innovation park to a newly built production facility which cost €23m and covers 36,000m2. New equipment includes an injection moulding machine with a clamping force of 1,000 metric tons; another machine will be added by the end of the year.
“Our newly opened plant conforms to our high production standards and also offers the possibility of future expansions,” commented Ulrich Mauß, executive vice-president, Röchling Automotive. The production area currently amounts to 3,300m2 while the logistics area totals 4,000m2. Röchling plans a further expansion in 2015, when 1,000m2 of production space will be added, and 1,500m2 for logistics. In a final phase, the original area may be doubled.
During the past year, the company’s workforce has increased from 127 to 132; it will grow to 140 by the end of 2014.
