Japan – As corporate vice-president for Global Sales, Allan Rushforth will be based at the OEM’s Yokohama headquarters and will report to Philippe Klein, Nissan chief planning officer. Rushforth joins Nissan from Hyundai, where he was chief operating officer and senior vice-president for Europe, based in Frankfurt, Germany.
Rushforth started his career in 1983 with the Rover Group in the UK, working in fleet sales. Following its acquisition by BMW in 1996, he was assigned to South Korea as executive director with responsibility for the launch of the Land Rover brand. Rushforth returned to the UK in 1998 as sales director, before he was recruited by Volkswagen Group to lead Audi Retail Operations. He left VW as director of Group Services in 2007, moving to Hyundai.
