Pepperl+Fuchs has introduced its SLCS and SLCT Series safety light curtains. Available in IEC 61496-compliant Type 4 or Type 2 versions, these high-resolution and ultra-slim safety light curtains offer reductions in safe mounting distance with respect to the point-of-operation hazard. The small unit footprint (20mm wide x 30mm deep) and optional quick-release mounting bracket facilitates fast, fl exible installation.
SLCS Type 4 and SLCT Type 2 series safety light curtains use standard M12 micro connector cordsets and feature integrated control electronics with solid state OSSDs for a self-contained, two-box system that simplifies wiring and setup. No synchronization cable connection is needed between the transmitter and receiver and no separate control module is required. The sensors provide a maximum sensing range of 8m (26ft), and are available with beam spacings for finger (14mm), hand (30mm) and body detection (60 and 90mm) confi gurations, while the units offer reliable operation in temperatures ranging from -22° F to +140°F (-30° C to +60° C).
