NVision is helping a leading Tier One automotive supplier reduce its test track expenses with its multibody simulation software. A solid model of a 53-foot trailer was developed with NVision’s laser scanning technology helping to validate the lifetime of trailer components such as axles and suspensions. This sort of validation process normally requires multiple iterations of expensive proving ground testing, something the supplier is moving to reduce. The software uses road profi le data obtained on the proving ground.
It would have taken a designer three to four months to build the solid model of the line haul trailer needed for the simulation. Instead, NVision was able to model the trailer in only one month. The virtual trailer will generate test track savings each time it is used.
