Czech Republic - The OEM has hit the milestone after delivering over 100,000 units of the Kodiaq SUV to customers between January and August 2018.
"Given that we only presented the Skoda Kodiaq two years ago, reaching a figure of 250,000 vehicles produced is an enormous achievement," stated Michael Oeljeklaus, Skoda's board member for production and logistics. "The Kodiaq has changed the Skoda brand’s image and, in doing so, has also spurred on the sales of other models."
With demand in the SUV market continuously on the rise, the model has become one of the OEM's main driver for growth across the world. It is also made at several other production sites, including Changsha in China, Nizhny Novgorod in Russia, Aurangabad in India, Solomonovo in Ukraine and Ust-Kamenogorsk in Kazakhstan.
As well as making 250,000 units of the Kodiaq, Skoda recently celebrated the milestone of making 1m SUVs back in August. It has also carried out numerous updates to three plants in order to keep up with increasing demand for its models.
