Pepperl+Fuchs has introduced Weld Slag Resistant POC cables. The robust and fl ame retardant cables offer reliable operation over an extended working life in high temperature welding applications. The fl ame-retardant cable jacket can withstand temperatures up to 150oC, while the fl exible structure can handle high levels of mechanical stress, making POC cables ideal solution for use in weld cell locations in automotive industry applications. “Weld slag and the effects of molten metal fl ash from welding operations can quickly damage standard sensor cables, leading to shorter service life and reduced productivity,” said Dave Rubinski, Product Manager. “Our new weld slag resistant cables use a cable jacket material, which enables them to defl ect the punishment handed out in harsh welding applications. As a result, users will benefi t from long, problem-free service life and reduced downtime.”
