Sunnen has introduced its SHO-500 honing oil, a petroleum-free, general-purpose fl uid based on a renewable vegetable formulation that makes sustainable metalworking affordable and practical. Offering a breakthrough in oxidation stability, SHO-500 is formulated without additives such as sulphur, chlorine and fl uorine. The new fl uid is suitable for use with conventional vitrifi ed honing abrasives and metal-bond superabrasives. SHO-500 joins Sunnen’s two other environmentallyfriendly oils, MAN-863 and KG3X, both of which are listed as ‘BioPreferred’ products by the US Department of Agriculture.
