France – The main building at the Ladoux site in Clermont-Ferrand, which will be known as the Campus RDI (Research, Development and Process Engineering) is due to be completed in 2018, when it will accommodate 1,600 personnel. Phase one will be finished in late 2015; 600 staff will begin work there before being joined by the remaining 1,000 in late 2018 on the completion of phase two.
The new energy-efficient campus will include training facilities, documentation centres, a 250-seat multimedia room, a scientific and technical communication area and an exhibition room. The complex as a whole will house Michelin’s 3,300-strong R&D team in France and represents a €270m investment.
