Japan – Total domestic output dropped by 26.6% in November compared to the same period the year before, due to lower production of both passenger cars and commercial vehicles (CVs). Overseas output jumped by 40.7% year-on-year due to greater production of passenger vehicles.
Domestic production comprised: 19,647 CX-5 units (down 24.2% year-on-year); 16,028 Mazda3 (Axela) units (down 39.0%); and 8,024 Mazda2 (Demio) units (down 11.0%). The total of 62,492 vehicles brought the January to November figure to 862,110 vehicles (down 2.9%).
Overseas production was composed of: 20,427 Mazda3s (+554.9%); 5,099 Mazda6s (-53.7%); and 4,961 Mazda2s (+167.3%). The monthly total of 40,405 vehicles contributed to the January to November figure of 358,853 units (+33.6%).
The global production total for November was 102,897 units, taking output to 1,220,962 vehicles from January.
