Japan – The OEM’s domestic production, incorporating both passenger cars and commercial vehicles, dropped by 2.5% year-on-year while the overseas output rose by 7.8% due to greater demand for cars. In March, domestic production grew by 7.3%, with higher numbers of cars made, while overseas output rose by 21.8% due to increases across both segments.

Domestic production in March 2017:CX-5: 37,200 units (+18.3%)Mazda3 (Axela): 19,927 units (+8.9%)CX-3: 12,813 units (+11.0%).
Overseas production in March 2017:Mazda3: 25,069 units (+8.4%)Mazda2: 12,156 units (+17.1%)CX-4: 8,047 units.
