Balancing quantity and quality – OEMs and tier supppliers deploy new quality control solutions as they scale up EV production

The issue of quality control for automotive manufacturers is ever present, and one which has, over decades, seen a great deal of development in technologies and processes. It effects every stage of the vehicle build process from materials and components to assembly operations, and each stage has its own specific quality requirements.

In this edition we get some insights into how OEMs and tier suppliers are adapting their respective quality control processes to meet the new challenges presented by electric powertrains and vehicles. We also look at the importance of developing manufacturing processes for volume production at an early stage, and supporting supply chains, and how this effects the quality of the final product.
