Successful automation of joining processes where joining stations are close together and space is at a premium requires particularly slim modules. For such situations, Kistler has developed its electromechanical NCFS joining module Type 2152B, suitable for use in such applications as press fi tting valve seat rings and valve guides. Featuring a specialized housing construction, the unit is particularly rigid despite being very compact. Its special shape has a centre distance of just 70mm, allowing very close spacing between assembly line stations. A special high-precision guide also helps minimize the amount of space required for mounting. The centre distance can be reduced even further by pressing eccentrically within the permissible range. Several electromechanical NCFS Type 2152B joining modules can be assembled into a single joining station. This allows faster throughput by avoiding the need to synchronize several assembly stations. The unit’s integral piezoelectric force sensor offers a choice of two predefi ned measuring ranges of 15 and 25kN. The stroke of 350mm allows access to deep end points and the high speed of up to 250mm/s offers a quick idle stroke and short machine cycles, despite elongated feed travels. - www.kistler.com
