US – Former Lockheed Martin executive vice-president Linda Gooden will become a director from February 5, 2015. She retired in 2013 but currently serves on the boards of several public companies.
Gooden began her 40-year career at the Packard Electric Division of GM and spent 34 years at Lockheed Martin, holding several senior management positions. In 2010, she was appointed to the National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee by President Obama.
“Linda brings proven leadership and significant experience in information technology and expertise in operations and strategic planning,” said Tim Solso, GM chairman. “Her background in the aerospace and defense industry provides a diverse perspective that will greatly benefit our board.”
The GM board now comprises 13 members.
