Bosch says it is adding a high-performance variant to its Generation 9 brake control systems. The core of the new smaller and lighter ESP 9 premium version is an especially effi cient return pump, which the company claims can build up brake pressure very fast and with very little vibration. The company says it has placed special importance on a high level of fl exibility for the ESP 9 with much of the hardware and software being modular in construction. As well as featuring a number of common assistance functions (from hill hold control to adaptive cruise control) the premium version can also offer lane-keeping assistant, emergency braking assistant, smart cruise control and torque vectoring. These functions can be confi gured as required by a vehicle maker. www.bosch.com
