hofer Powertrain and Pollmann International have teamed up to accelerate the industrialisation of next-generation electric powertrain solutions. The partnership aims to bring advanced EV powertrain technologies to market faster.
The collaboration combines hofer powertrain’s engineering expertise with Pollmann International’s precision manufacturing capabilities, enabling the rapid scaling of high-performance powertrain components for OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers.
hofer has over 40 years of experience in powertrain development, delivering propulsion technologies for leading automotive brands. Now, with Pollmann International – a specialist in metal-plastic composite assemblies and high-volume production – the two companies say they intend to bring EV powertrain innovations to market faster and more efficiently.
A key area of focus in this partnership is the traction inverter, an essential component that controls the flow of power between an EV’s battery and electric motor. hofer powertrain is spearheading the development of next-generation traction inverters, complete with busbars and EMI filters, designed for high performance and cost efficiency. Hofer says that by leveraging Pollmann’s expertise in mechatronic components, these inverters can be produced at scale with higher levels of precision and at reduced costs.
In addition to power electronics, the partnership is advancing battery module housing technology. Designed for mass production, these housings will meet the increasing demands for lightweight, durable, and efficient energy storage solutions in modern electric vehicles.
