EMO 2007 featured the world premiere of the Gildemeister Corporation’s revolutionary DMG New Design – the new design of the DMG machines is not only ground-breaking, but highlights a functional, as well as aesthetic ‘quantum leap’ in machine tool construction because of the interaction of design, ergonomics and functionality.
At its state-of-the-art stand at EMO, DMG had a total of 70 hightech machines on display (14 of which made their world debuts) and demonstrated the capabilities of each. Many machines included large viewing panels providing 40 per cent to 80 per cent more transparency for a direct experience of the machining processes.
Newly formed company DMG Automation demonstrated its performance potential with examples of even more robot applications and further system and automation solutions. The spectrum of the exhibits ranged from the entry-level solution, to the comprehensive high-end automation of two horizontal machining centres connected by robots.
