UK – In the newly created position of chief commercial officer, Dennis Hayter will be responsible for commercial activities and customer relationships at Controlled Power Technologies (CPT), both at its Coventry operation in the UK and at subsidiaries in Germany and the US. He will be based at the company’s headquarters at Laindon, Essex.
Hayter was most recently vice-president for business development and external programmes at Intelligent Energy. He was previously principal and practice leader at BAH and A.T. Kearney, and partner at Berger & Partners. He has worked in Europe, North America and in the Asia-Pacific region.
“With an increasingly international customer base and an enhanced product portfolio for the global vehicle and engine sectors we needed to transition our sales and business development roles into a wider commercial context,” commented Nick Pascoe, CPT’s co-founder and CEO. He added that Hayter’s experience of the low-carbon auto sector, technology and strategy consulting “gives him a keen sense of what needs to be done as the automotive industry accelerates the introduction of 48V mild hybrid technology as a cost-effective route to ultra-low emission vehicles, which are defined as emitting 75g/km or less of CO2 emissions.”
“I’m delighted to take up the commercialisation challenge with CPT and work with the sales, engineering and production teams in pursuit of successful outcomes with existing and prospective OEM and tier one customers,” said Hayter. “There are numerous applications for CPT’s switched-reluctance motor-generator technology, whether for engine down-sizing or down-speeding, torque assist for driveability enhancement, or more advanced concepts for future driveline architectures and more challenging emission goals.”
