Siemens has announced a new release of its LMS Test. Lab engineering suite for test data acquisition and analysis. The latest version includes a new approach to measuring the sounds from hybrid and electric vehicles which in traditional cars are masked by the engine and other low-frequency noises, it says.
They include wind noise, road noise and highfrequency tones generated by the inverters linked to AC motors.
Other enhancements in the new release include sound source capabilities and enhanced measurement of pass-by noise, says the company, with the ability to analyse which subsystems contribute most to the total noise level relative to the vehicle position. Test data can be analysed and returned in two days, it says.
The LMS company was recently acquired by Siemens and is now part of its PLM Software division.
