Germany – Antonio Cobo has been appointed vice president for manufacturing and supply chain of Opel/Vauxhall, the company has announced. From January, 2019, Cobo will succeed Rémi Girardon who is moving to an executive position within the manufacturing and supply chain division of Groupe PSA.
Cobo's new role sees him take on responsibility for the Opel/Vauxhall manufacturing operations as well as supply chain, facilities management, environmental compliance and sustainability matters.
Working for Opel/Vauxhall and GM since 1981, Granada-born Cobo has held a variety of international management functions mainly in the area of manufacturing and quality. His postings include Spain, Germany and the US. He was managing director for Opel España and plant manager of the Zaragoza plant in September 2010.
