US – Replacing Kim Airey, who becomes the company’s regional director in China, Mark Barnes will take up the post of COO with immediate effect. He returned to the Volkswagen Group in 2014 after working for other OEMs.
Barnes has 30 years of experience in the automotive industry, having served with General Motors, Chrysler, Hyundai North America and Nissan North America.
“Mark’s appointment comes at a time when Bentley is preparing for significant growth throughout the region,” said Michael Winkler, president of Bentley Motors. “The launch of the all-new Bentayga ultra-luxury SUV is just the first step in adding new, hand-built luxury models to our product offering which will lead to sales growth."
The Americas form Bentley’s largest market, accounting for nearly 30% of total sales. The company keeps its regional headquarters in Hendon, Virginia.
