As the opening keynote to the online Automotive Manufacturing Evolution Summit, ZF Group CDO René Deist reveals how the company is scaling up digitalisation across manufacturing and supply chain operations. That includes an important partnership with Microsoft to create an integrated cloud network, including building up a connected ecosystem for the company’s 200 manufacturing plants, which will allow for better data sharing and the further development of artificial intelligence.
Deist explains how a cloud architecture, along with wider data sharing across the automotive industry – including through the European-wide Catena-X network, which includes multiple OEMs and suppliers – will play important roles in further advancing process automation, predictive maintenance and sales and operations planning (S&OP) integration across automotive manufacturing.
