ZF begins chassis technology supply from new Vietnam plant

Located in OEM’s 70-ha supplier park on the Cat Hai Island, the plant is ZF’s first in Vietnam, one of the fastest growing automotive manufacturing markets in Southeast Asia. The Hai Phong plant, ZF said, exemplifies the company’s ”local-for-local strategy.”

“This cooperation [with Vinfast] offers ZF the unique opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a new market”, said Michael Hankel, member of the ZF Board of Management.

On a 44.000 m2 area directly adjacent to the Vinfast plant, the facility is designed and equipped to produce chassis module sets just-in-time at a rate of 38 jobs per hour.
