The new facility will be used to produce compressors and heat pump systems for Changan Automobile
China - The global supplier Hanon Systems has formally opened a new plant in the city of Chongqing. It is part of a joint venture that was announced back in October 2017 between Chongqing Jianshe Motorcycle and Chongqing Jianshe Mechnical & Electrical Equipment, both of which are subsidaries of China South Industries Group Corporation (CSGC).
“We are proud to stand alongside our partners to witness the official opening of our latest operation in Chongqing,” commented Min Sung, representative executive officer of Hanon Systems. “This event underscores the start of a bright future and demonstrates the company’s commitment to support Chinese automakers and global vehicle manufacturers operating in China with locally supplied solutions.”
The facility will initially be used to make variable swashplate conmpressors and heat pump systems. These will be supplied to Changan Automobile - another subsidary of CSGC. Plans to make heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) modules as well as powertrain cooling components could also be put forward.
Hanon Systems now operates 15 manufacturing sites across China. It has a total of 51 manufacturing facilities across the world, and is active in 21 countries.
