Hungary – The manufacturer is investing $13m at its site in Székesfehérvár to double the output of its Dura-Bright EVO surface-treated product, while the Hungarian Government will contribute 1 billion forints ($4.5m) through its regional economic development initiative.
Construction work began in January this year and completion is expected in 2015. The expansion will increase by 35 the number of permanent personnel at the location.
According to Tim Myers, president, Alcoa Wheel and Transportation Products, demand for forged, lightweight aluminium wheels continues to grow in Europe as a result of emissions regulations. “Additional capacity at our manufacturing facility in Hungary positions us to capture this growth,” he stated.
