Sandvik Coromant’s CoroTurn TR interface was previously only available for multitask, multi-axis machines. Now the company has developed a new CoroTurn TR that optimises turning and profi ling operations in small part machining production and production using sliding head machines. The CoroTurn TR (T-Rail) interface has gained a valuable reputation for increasing stability and precision in demanding turning applications. The newly-designed CoroTurn TR tool holder for sliding head machines makes rigid tool holding and precise, close-tolerance turning available to a wider range of applications and small components. CoroTurn TR’s new T-rail design, now on zero offset tools, for sliding head machines, ensures repeatable edge indexing into the correct insert seat location every time it is used. This maintains dimension tolerances in smaller components. The extra security increases the number of components that each insert can produce between changes. Fewer insert changes lead to reduced setup time and longer, uninterrupted production runs, enabling larger volume production at lower component cost. - www.coromant.sandvik.com
