Thailand – Following the start of production at Hiroshima Plant, Japan, in December last year, Auto Alliance Thailand (AAT) has become the second operation to manufacture the model, and the first overseas location to do so.
“AAT is an extremely important hub that consolidates our system for supplying the CX-3 promptly and consistently to the growing compact SUV market,” commented Kiyotaka Shobuda, managing executive officer at Mazda. “By providing customers with Thai-produced vehicles that are as high-quality as those we make in Japan, we will work towards further raising our brand image.”
The CX-3 is the fifth model in Mazda’s range of new-generation vehicles featuring SkyActiv Technology and KODO – Soul of Motion design. The OEM regards the CX-3 as “a new core model” and launched it in Japan last February, subsequently introducing it to other key markets such as North America, Europe and Australia.
