Germany – The OEM says its ‘Together – Strategy 2025’ is intended as the foundation for “becoming one of the world’s leading providers of sustainable mobility”. The report looks at progress already made in sustainability as well as setting targets for the future.
Matthias Müller, chairman of the board of management, the Volkswagen Group, said: “Developments in the automotive industry over the next ten years will be more profound than any in the last 100. It is therefore all the more important to have a firm framework of values.” He pointed to low-emission drive system technologies, smart mobility services and autonomous driving as “essential forward-looking issues” on which the company is working.
In manufacturing, the Group had set targets for the reduction of five key environmental performance indicators, namely energy, water, waste, CO2 and volatile organic compounds.
