Czech Republic - The OEM is now making the updated third-generation Fabia at its plant in Mladá Boleslav, which is situated in the Central Bohemian Region of the country. Michael Oeljeklaus, Skoda's board member for production and logistics, hopes that the model's success will continue.
"Production of the ŠKODA FABIA began almost 20 years ago in Mladá Boleslav," he recalled. "The latest version of our ever-popular model will now also benefit from the customary high manufacturing and quality standards at Skoda's main plant. We have given the Skoda Fabia a comprehensive facelift. With its new design and technological features, it is now fit for the future."
Two variants of the Fabia are made at the plant - the hatchback and the Combi. The first generation sold over 1,790,000 units worldwide, while the second sold 1,710,000. It is Skoda's second best-selling model in its portfolio, coming shortly after the Octavia.
The company recently updated three of its plants in Czech Republic in order to boost efficiency. In September 2017, the brand as a whole hit a 20m production milestone.
