Telsonic says its ultrasonic modules and systems are designed to be applied in a number of ways. The company offers the example of mounting a Telsonic converter and sonotrode arrangement to a robot wrist.
The robot-mounted system incorporates ambient and chilled air-cooling to allow repetitive welding on polymer materials and says the company the ultrasonic sonotrode can be positioned accurately and repeatably by the robot, to achieve the required number of welds on any individual component. It’s claimed that one of the benefits of automating this process will be repetitive positioning and orientation of the sonotrode for every weld on each component, improving the quality and consistency on all parts.
