Michael MachtGermany – The member of the board of management of Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft with responsibility for Group Production today stepped down from his post by mutual agreement with the supervisory board. Michael Macht will be replaced temporarily by Thomas Ulbrich, board of management member for Production at Volkswagen Passenger Cars.

“Michael Macht has taken the Volkswagen production system further forward. We would like to thank him for his achievements,” commented Martin Winterkorn, chairman of the board of management, Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft. During Macht’s tenure, the VW production network has expanded and annual output has increased from 6.7m to almost 10m vehicles.

Macht joined Porsche in 1990 and held a number of senior positions at the brand. He became chairman of the board of management of Porsche AG and a member of the board of management of Porsche SE between 2009-2010, playing a significant role in the integration of the luxury marque into Volkswagen Group. He took up his most recent position at VW in 2010.
