Steelpark, TataUK – The new development at Tata’s Steelpark plant amalgamates its plate cutting and machining capability into a single facility which can offer tailored processing services for specific customer requirements. The profiling centre, which is the result of a £3.1m investment, will boost Steelpark’s capacity to 47,000 tonnes per annum.

In addition to technology brought together from other Tata sites, Steelpark now has two new high-definition plasma profiling machines which will reduce lead times. In total, the facility is equipped with five high-definition plasma profiling machines, plus two laser profiling machines, two gas profiling machines, five machining centres (two new) and three flattening presses.

The profiling centre will process steel plate into a range of shaped and machined components, ranging from high-volume production runs for off-road vehicle wheels and booms for earth-moving equipment, to large one-off parts for construction projects and specialist engineering applications.
