China – Magna and Beijing Hainachuan Automotive Parts (BHAP) say they have formed a joint venture to meet the demands of the Chinese automotive industry and that they will build a new production facility in Beijing. It’s noted that the JV has already won new door module business for a German OEM in China.
The partners state that this joint venture and the new production facility will allow both companies to expand their presence in China, and attract new customers and strengthen relationships with current ones. Production at the facility is scheduled to begin in 2021 and is expected to generate over 100 new jobs.
“We are pleased to combine Magna’s expertise in mechatronic systems with BHAP’s relationships with automakers in China,” said John O’Hara, Magna Closures, Lighting and Mirrors president.
“The door module collaboration between BHAP and Magna is a significant step for us as we execute our global strategy,” said chairman Cai Suping of BHAP.
