US – The $26m investment at the Pennsylvania facility will involve a significant realignment of subassembly and material handling in order to more efficiently support the main lines, plus the implementation of new processes and equipment to improve the post-production inspection and testing of completed vehicles.
As part of the upgrade, Macungie Cab & Vehicle Assembly will benefit from the installation of two new dynamometers which will allow completed trucks to run on stationary rollers for enhanced testing of engine and vehicle systems.
Stephen Roy, president of Mack Trucks North American Sales and Marketing, commented: “Along with a product line-up and a dealer network that have never been stronger, this latest significant investment in our facilities sends a clear message that Mack is poised to grow our business.”
