UK: Lister Cars is to reinstate production of the ‘Knobbly Jaguar' made famous during 1950s sports car racing, almost a quarter of a century after the last Lister rolled off the production line. George Lister Engineering of Cambridge, Brian Lister Light Engineering and Lister Storm have been united into a single organisation following a signifi cant investment by used car warranty provider, Warrantywise.
The consolidated Lister Motor Company has invested in a stateof- the-art facility in Cambridge which incorporates CNC machining, 3D scanning and Catia design.
Using these resources, George Lister Engineering intends to develop a near identical version of the historic competition and track car.
Brian Lister’s original working drawings and manufacturing jigs have been re-commissioned, and many of the original team involved in the 1950s project have been called back into service.
Jaguar D-Type-specifi cation engines and D-Type gearboxes will be supplied by Crosthwaite & Gardener; race preparation and track commissioning will be undertaken by CKL Developments. The original Shapecraft body bucks will also be used.
