AutoForm Engineering, supplier of software solutions for the sheet metal forming industry, has introduced AutoForm-ThermoSolver, designed to simulate the hot forming and quenching processes. Using AutoForm-ThermoSolver, high-strength components with complex geometries and minimal springback can be engineered in less time and at lower cost.
AutoForm-ThermoSolver features several innovations. In addition to supporting direct and indirect hot forming, the software also takes into account heat flux and phase transformation during quenching. This offers engineers better insight into the structural transformation of material, while enabling better process control.
With AutoForm-ThermoSolver, car manufacturers and suppliers can reliably design and engineer processes to produce hot-stamped parts for their new vehicles, including A- and B-pillars, transmission tunnels, front and rear bumper beams, side rail members, door beams and roof rails.
