Schuler says it has designed the control of its new MSP 400 servo press in the style of a smartphone app. The company says the Smart Assist software guides the operator through the setup process, supported using small videos and text modules, and it’s claimed the electronic assistant optimises the transfer and slide profiles to maximum output depending on the clearance profiles.
The process monitor integrated in the control unit is said to ensure overload protection across the entire course of the press force profile and the entire movement profile; a minimum and maximum force can be defined for effective protection of the die. The integration of additional sensors (for acceleration, oscillation or pressure) enables condition monitoring of the system, which can be displayed in the control system’s visualisation.
