Rolls-Royce appoints production head25 October 2018 | Automotive Manufacturing Solutions
UK – Johann Wolf has been named director of manufacturing at the company. He has 40 years of experience working in the BMW Group and holding various different manufacturing roles, in the latest of which he was responsible for integrating new products into the company’s Dingolfing plant.
“I am delighted to announce that Johann Wolf has been appointed as Director of Manufacturing. His exceptional production and specialist small volume experience, with over 40 years at a senior level in the BMW Group, will be invaluable and he is warmly welcomed to the Rolls-Royce family,” commented Torsten Müller-Ötvös, CEO of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars.
Wolf replaces Frank Ludwig, who will become director of painted body at BMW’s plant in Regensburg.
The news comes soon after Rolls-Royce announced that it was looking to employ 200 new workers at its site in Goodwood. This followed on from the release of its sales results during the first half of 2018, in which the OEM achieved a 13% increase. Other companies, like Jaguar Land Rover, have expressed a concern over Brexit, and have decided to invest in workforces elsewhere.
