PSA LVC operations at Hordain, northern France

France – Groupe PSA will introduce a fourth production team to its LVC operations at Hordain. The OEM says its decision has been prompted by strong demand for the Peugeot Expert and Citroën Jumpy (known as Dispatch in some markets), as well as the Peugeot Traveller and Citroën SpaceTourer.

The Hordain plant, in north-east France, assembles assembles 630 vehicles per day across three LCV brands: Peugeot Expert, Citroën Jumpy and Toyota Proace, for the freight transport versions, and Peugeot Traveller, Citroën SpaceTourer and Toyota Proace Verso, for the passenger car versions. The plant assembles 630 vehicles per day.

Speaking about the announcement, Patrice Le Guyader, Northern France Manufacturing Division Director, said: “The performance achieved by these vehicles in Europe has encouraged us to adjust and support the outstanding sales dynamic by creating a new production team. It’s excellent news for everyone and a just reward for the rigorous, seamless and highly customer-oriented teamwork displayed at the plant.”

To service the additional PSA volume, the plant will be recruiting to almost 600 extra roles by May 2018; in production, maintenance, automation and system supervisors – primarily as 18 month temporary positions.

Outside Europe, the Peugeot Expert and Citroën Jumpy have also been produced in Latin America since October 2017, and will start rolling off production lines in Russia in the first quarter of 2018.
