BorgWarnerBorgWarner says it is supplying Great Wall Motors’ (GWM) with its customised DualTronic clutch and control modules. These will be used in GWM’s self-developed wet dual-clutch transmission (wet DCT) and feature in models such as the recently launched WEY.

The DualTronic clutch module uses two wet clutches to engage the even and odd gears respectively. Featuring a specially developed groove design, the company claims this module’s multi-segment wet friction materials provide improved heat resistance, high torque capacity and reliable operation over the transmission’s lifetime. Using compact electro-hydraulic solenoid valves, the control module regulates the clutch as well as the transmission’s gearshift actuation system.
