Watch this session to discover how ArcelorMittal’s new S-in motion® customizable steel solutions for chassis enable carmakers to extend range, reduce cost, and enhance safety at the most affordable cost.
For the transition to electric vehicles to be fully successful, carmakers must increase efforts to extend range, reduce cost, and enhance safety. In this webinar, ArcelorMittal specialists demonstrate why e-mobility needs smart steel.
A new S-in motion® study from ArcelorMittal reveals that advanced high strength steels (AHSS) solutions are the best choice to achieve this revolution in mobility at an affordable cost. This presentation gives automotive engineers inspiration on how to use smart steel solutions to design the chassis.
Our S-in motion® rear chassis solutions include two multi-links solutions so-called “integral-link” and “five links” covering therefore the main trend in the suspensions layout. With the S in motion® Rear chassis project, we have successfully developed a lightweight steel rear-subframe concept with ArcelorMittal’s most advanced high strength steels for BEV while keeping equivalent structural and elasto-kinematic performance.
For example, the S-in motion® study of the rear chassis demonstrated how the ferrite-bainite and complex-phase steels such as HR440Y580T-FB, HR660Y760T-CP, and CR780Y980T-CP contribute to the overall performance of BEV chassis.
